Lucky four year old and a Dubai resident of thirty years win DSMG’s first DSS 2010 raffle draw for BMW 3 Series Sedans
12 more sedans to be given away during the next six weeks of DSS bonanza

Dubai, UAE; June 24, 2010 – A four year old Emirati girl and an Indian driver, who has been working in Dubai for the last thirty years, became the first two winners of Dubai Shopping Malls Group’s (DSMG) incredible campaign for Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS) 2010. Both of them will receive a stunning BMW 3 Series Sedan!

DSMG announced the winners to a packed audience gathered at Dubai Outlet Mall to watch a spectacular ‘Dubai Has Got Talent’ show, just before the much awaited raffle draw. The show featured a comedian, pianist, dancer and a singer who performed to a cheering audience. Children were called on to the stage to vote for their favourite performer and the majority voted for the pianist who enthralled the audience with his exceptional performance.

After the show, the shoppers waited with great expectation as the two lucky winners- four year old Emirati girl, Khulood Khalid and Indian T. Assainar-were announced.

Khulood Khalid’s father couldn’t hide his surprise and excitement as DSMG conveyed the news of his daughter’s win: “I can’t believe this! This is just beyond my most imaginative dreams, my little girl has won a BMW! She is too small to understand the significance but she is excited that she is getting a new gift!”

This is the first time that Khalid’s family has won a DSS raffle draw. They received the winning raffle ticket when they shopped for their new baby who is expected this year.

Assainar too was absolutely stunned when he was informed of his surprise win: “I don’t know what to say, this surpasses my wildest expectations. I can’t believe I am the owner of a fabulous BMW! My family will be so excited, I can’t wait to tell them. I have worked in Dubai as a driver for 30 years and this is the best thing that has happened to me.”

As key supporters of DSS since its inception in 1998, DSMG is known for its creative and unique DSS promotions that attract millions of shoppers to Dubai every year. DSMG’s amazing BMW promotion is the major highlight of DSS 2010, giving 14 shoppers the chance to win one of the world’s most coveted luxury car. All customers who spend AED 200 at any of the 21 participating malls during DSS are eligible to take part in the draw.

Commenting on DSMG’s DSS promotions, Vishal Mahajan, Director of Dubai Outlet Mall where the first draw took place, said: “Dubai Outlet Mall is delighted to continuously support DSS. The DSS campaigns keep evolving year after year with an extravaganza of promotions, offers and entertainment, which all contribute to Dubai being one of the most sought after cities for shopping.”

The member malls of DSMG participating in DSS 2010 include: Al Bustan Centre, Al Ghurair City, Al Manal Centre, Al Mulla Plaza, Arabian Center, Burjuman, Century Mall, Dubai Marina Mall, Dubai Marina Walk, Dubai Outlet Mall, Gold & Diamond Park, Hamarain Centre, Lamcy Plaza, Mazaya Centre, Mercato Mall, Oasis Center, Palm Strip, Reef Mall, Souk Al Bahar, The Dubai Mall and Town Centre.

Participating malls have organised a number of shopping and entertainment activities for families and children, such as Kids Fashion Week, international cartoon show ‘Stories of SpongeBob’, Middle East Junior Chef of the Year and Modhesh World.
